Hope for terminally ill patients to be granted the right for assisted dying

Kim Leadbeater a Labour MP is proposing the bill,  which will be the first time the subject has been debated in Parliament since 2015 but on that occasion, the bill was rejected.

Kier Starmer has advised his MPs to vote with their conscience and are being given a free vote on the subject.

It would only effect people who had been formally diagnosed with less than 6 months to live.

The bill itself will be proposed on 16th October and will then be debated later in 2024.
