Notaries
We can (and in 95% of cases do) arrange appointments on your behalf with notaries in the areas listed below, however, please note that the services provided to you by any notary that we have arranged an appointment with on your behalf are not part of the services that we ourselves provide to you and, as such:
You do not pay us for these services, you pay the notary directly at your appointment with them;
While the standard fee a notary will charge is 65€ in iva for a Will and 130€ inc iva for a Power of Attorney, some notaries will charge more or less than this and we will do our best to advise you in advance of the fee that you can expect to pay the individual notary that you have an appointment with;
We will always try to ensure that the notary we recommend speaks good English, does not require an interpreter to attend and will accept dual column Wills (English and Spanish), however, if any variation to this is going to apply in your particular case, we will do our best to advise you in advance, however, with the exception of a notary accepting dual column Wills which will always be guaranteed, it is of course possible that a notary be sick on the day of your appointment with them and a locum be in attendance, which of course, we would not be able to be aware of in advance.
No claim or complaint can be brought against us for anything pertaining to the services provided or not provided by the notary involved in your case or the failure of a notary that we have attempted to make an appointment with on your behalf to make such an appointment.
Please note that if you use your own notary you MUST:
Ensure that the notary you choose speaks sufficiently good English to read the English side of your document and is subsequently then able to comply with their obligation to ensure that they are satisfied that you also understand it;
Confirm their charges before you engage them - these should be around 65€ per Will and 130€ per Power of Attorney including iva;
We need to be given the full details of the notary that you have chosen as these details need to be added to the Will draft;
You must then send your chosen notary the electronic version of the documents that we send you well in advance of your appointment with them - this is called ''minuta notaarial''
Please be aware that we cannot get involved in or resolve any issues/complications created by using your own notary and not one of our listed recommended English-speaking notaries below.

Our service for arranging the appointment is FREE OF CHARGE - you simply make payment to the notary after your appointment with them.
Typical fees they charge to notarise a Will are €65 (please note this is a rough guide)
Typical fees they charge to notarise a Power of Attorney are €130 (please note again, this is a rough guide and will vary from notary to notary).
