Becoming an Expat in Spain: Volume 4
Receiving and sending letters and parcels
The mail service in Spain is called Correos and you can look on Trust Pilot to see the reviews and experiences of users that will enable you to decide whether or not to use that method/service.
Alternative options do exist, and one of the most popular are independent post shops/services.
Effectively the shop take your post for you and then lets you know when something has arrived for which you pay a small fee.
Because these shops tend to be in commercialised areas, they are easily found by postal couriers whereas, if you live on an urbanisation or in a more rural area (campo), your property may not be easy to find.
They will similarly handle your outbound postal requirements and represent very good value for a high standard of reliability.
Do take into consideration though, the import duty and taxes that may be applicable on items being sent from the UK and calculators for these are readily available online - don't get caught out, it can be a costly mistake.
