What Pauline Quirke’s dementia diagnosis reminds us
Paulin Quirke was just 61 when she was diagnosed with dementia in 2021 and her condition has now deteriorated to the point where she has to step away from all professional and commercial duties.
Pauline was born in London, and became an instant star in the Hit sit com Birds of a Feather and was awarded an MBE in 2022 for her contributions to entertainment, her charity work, and her focus on the empowerment of young people through The Pauline Quirke Academy.
Pauline’s diagnosis and subsequent retirement from public life highlights to us the importance of have Lasting Powers of Attorney in place to ensure that should we ourselves ever fall foul to this hideous disease that our loved ones are able to deal with our financial and health affairs easily and without any difficulty.
